Girls in late teens and early 20s

Hi everyone, this is my first post around here. If there are any girls in their late teens or early 20s on here, I am curious what you personally are looking for at this point in time in a partner? I have dated 5 or 6 girls in the past few months and none of them were looking for commitment or relationship of any kind. They either just wanted to be friends or wanted physical contact/sex on the first date. I'm not saying one way is right or wrong but am just curious...are most young girls just not looking for relationships? Thanks for any help on this.

All people, no matter which sex progress at different rates through the commitment stage. You're going to get a multitude of answers from both ends of the spectrum.

I have close friends who are married and have, or are having a kid. I am years from that step, I have no intention of anything more than a girlfriend in the foreseeable future and I'm 22.

Thanks, I appreciate your response, I'm just trying to get a sample so I can see what the general consensus is.

I think most young people in general aren't looking for commitment these days. They're more into getting experience.
    Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame

I would say that is probably the most common thing you find in people our age, but someone ALWAYS has to be the exception to the rule.

definitely varies among people because everyone has different life goals and views their future differently. I know of 3 people from my graduating class that got married just before senior year of college, I know another 4 people from my graduating class that got married right after college, and I know of another 4 people form my graduating class that are getting married sometime in the next 1-2 years. really just depends on the person.

I'm turning 22 this month, just got out of a long-term relationship a few months ago, so I'm not really "looking" for anything. I wouldn't rush into anything, but I'd definitely want commitment if the opportunity presented itself! I'm done with experimenting and hooking up.

    hey colin.
am 22 years of age and all of my relationships have been more than 2 years and i have only dated older men (all atleast 5 years older) i agree that most girls my age are only into the 'dating experience' thing... from what i know - my friends. as for me, i was never into not committting and was/is serious about every relationship that i have been. so yeah

    I would say 50/50
Half of my friends are married... and some have kids already which is scary...
Others, like myself are single. Of those who are single lots are happy to be so.
I thought when I was younger that I would be married by now - but life just got in the way!
Most feel they know very quickly whether a guy will work or not - and if not they are happy enough to have a bit of fun and move on. There is so much to do and see, and many at this age will take love if it comes to them, but they wont go searching

I don't think young people are looking for commitments but rather "hook ups". Look up the term "hook up".
I will do my best to reply with an educated, humble and honest answer. Ultimately, it is up to you whether you want to listen to my advice or ignore it completely. Sometimes, my advice may be wrong; occasionally, it will be right. Regardless, I want to do my best to give people answers they are seeking.
