I don't like being treated like crap... but I do have to admit... when my boyfriend had finally lost his cool a couple of weeks ago... and the subsequent reconcile... I have to admit... I was impressed to see that he does indeed have a 'backbone'...
I'm not sure why I was impressed... though I'm sure it serves a more fundamental, instinctual purpose. I don't intend to ever see him that pissed again... but it seems almost like a relief to know that he is a 'man,' in that he does have a breaking point, he does know what he wants, and he's willing to stand up for himself if he feels threatened. I guess in the end, women want to have traits they admire in the man they choose... among these traits... confidence and self-respect being the most crucial.
"The weakest soul, knowing its own weakness, and believing this truth that strength can only be developed by effort and practice, will, thus believing, at once begin to exert itself, and, adding effort to effort, patience to patience, and strength to strength, will never cease to develop, and will at last grow divinely strong."
