ok. i'm 20 years old. and i have been thinking about a 15 year old girl alot recently. and i know that she likes me because we have talked about it. but, she's 15. and i really like her. i care for her so much. we have been talking for a while. at first as a friends sister, because that's what she was. then we got to become friends. and i can't seem to get her far from my mind. i've had some people tell me to wait untill she's 18. and others have told me to go for it, as long as i'm not just using her, and i've had some friends tell me to stop talking to her because she is so young. but 5 years is alot to me now, but it isn't so bad if the relationship progresses, right? i don't know what to do. got any suggestions?

what i mean is if we hold off dating for a few years. like, there's not that much difference between 27 and 32. and i know that i should find someone my own age. and i have never dated within a year of mine before. but there's something special about her. and i really don't like feeling this way for a 15 year old. and it's confusing the hell out of me.

She is too young. My kids babysitter is 15. Little more than a child, really. Don't let her appearance, or even her words fool you. Nowadays, its easy to *sound* mature, but there is no way in hell you should be thinking of dating her.

Find someone your own age, 18 - 20s.

You're looking as age as a number as an excuse to go for it.

We're looking at age as a reference to where a person is in their lives.

A 15 year old is in a different place in their lives than an 18 year old, correct?

An 18 year old is in a different place in their lives than a 21 year old.

And a 21 year old is in a different place in their lives than a 24 year old.

Now of course the maturity gap may lessen as we get into our 20's and 30's, but it's much wider during the teenage years.

I'd also like to mention that girls are wonderfully successful at fooling themselves into thinking they're so much more mature for their age.

In the end, mommy and daddy still pay for her phone, her health care, her education, her clothes, her food, her transportation, determine when her curfew is, when and whom she dates and so forth.

I think I'm actually getting old enough now where teenage girls are losing their appeal. Some of those girls just look like kids.

Some are hot though. That chick at the beach is pretty off the hook.

Anyway, to the OP, my last serious girlfriend was 5 years younger . I was 24 and she was 19 when we first started dating. But 15 and 20 is wrong.

If you give it three years, 18 and 23 isn't that bad. But stay the f-ck away from her until then
