I close my eyes instinctively, but also keeping them open feels a bit... awkward. I don't know, just looking at the other person when kissing them just doesn't feel right.
On another note, I've imagined kissing other people when I have my eyes closed

i kisses with my eyes closed because it just feels weird when i dont. when i was still with my ex he kissed me and we both still and our eyes open and it killed the whole mood because i laughed.

Its harder to focus your eyes the closer you get to something. Noone looks good cross-eyed, so best to close them before that happens.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.
