I wouldn't even bother with the cookbook, honestly. Check out allrecipes and browse. You'll find all sorts of great dishes there. Once you've spent a couple of months cooking you won't really need recipes so much. At best they'll be a general guideline. That's when you can start tweaking and creating your own stuff.
