    My husbands book made WALMART!

OMG! My dad called me this morning to tell us he found Chris's book in Walmart. WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!! That is so freakn huge it just doesn't seem comprehendable. He's a first time author and they published it in hard back last year. It's been published in 3 other countries but to hit Walmart holy crap. HUGE! I am so proud of him! We didnt even hear it through his publisher or his publicist.

Now he's vamped to finally work on the second one he's been meaning to but hasnt had time. Priorities have changed. FINALLY!!

    Congratulations, squirrley! How exciting!
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Awesome. Tho the subject of the book does remind me of Contact (the message hidden in Pi). Scientists are always the hardest critics of these kinds of books, tho

Who did he have advising him?

I'll give it a read, Squirrel. Congrats to your hubby!

Thanks so much! I will tell him. We still can't wrap our heads around the vastness of this today.

Actually Chris did all of the research himself. Plus he traveled Belieze to do that part of his research. He's a huge reader and big on facts. The funny thing is that he was working on his book BEFORE The Davinci Code came out and had it in the final phases through Tor when Dan Brown released his book. He's become friends with some big names over the last 2 years including James Rollins and Douglas Preston. We were suppose to meet Douglas Preston for the weekend this summer but our flight was cancelled so next summer.

What I find hard is reading the reviews from individuals that arent that nice, but I'd say 3/4 of the reviews across the board from Professional Writers, etc are great.

I dont think this is a book you'd be interested in if I'm correct, weren't you looking for your brother? This might be up his alley for sure. But please I do encourage you to read it just for the pleasure of looking at those facts. He mixed it up pretty well. But then again I'm his wife.

The book is about genetics, isn't it? I'm an omnivore in my reading, so I'm sure I'd find it interesting. My brother is an engineer, btw. The rest of us are the hard scientists.

Wow! That is amazing. And published by Tor no less? Congratulations.

It's about a hidden code in DNA...

Tor loved the concept. His next book isn't a sequal. But it's along the same genre. It's fast paced too.

Gribble, we flew to NY a couple of years ago and met Tom Doughtry whose the owner of Tor. Hung out in his office with him, that was quite an honor.

I thought it was you Indi who asked about books, maybe it was Vashti? I need to go back and read it.

Pretty sure it was me. Just saying that THIS particular book is one I would also read. So, two birds for the price of one.

Hey, can I order a signed copy? I have a few books like that & I enjoy having them.
