Lulz, unless the penis is from someone you know, I still say it could be horrible because I have not seen enough posts from you to tell if your the "emotional" type or not, but I don't want you being attached to someone whose purpose in sexing you up is for sexing you up and doesn't really care about your "distress". Could end in more depression that I don't want to see from someone as cool as you if a guy just ****s you and leaves.

Thanks, Zatguy. All joking aside, I'm not really the type who sleeps around casually. And my ex lives out of state, so even in a moment of weakness, I'm pretty safe from being his booty call.

Even though my lay off was a curve ball, I'm much better off emotionally than I was last year when I was fighting off a mild depression. I'm just fighting some moodiness.

Zat, your picture is showing up as just an ad. I'm a little scared of what it is though.

    Penises aren't a vice starbuck!

But in all seriousness, if you are feeling depressed the LAST thing you want to do is drink or do drugs. The VERY last thing you want to do. Drinking and drugs should only be taken in moments of celebration, because you may very easily worsen your depression or become dependent on them otherwise

Thanks all. My out-of-town friend just cancelled a trip to see me and she said it's because of money, but I'm wondering if it's because I'm in such a bad mood lately. I'm probably being paranoid, though.

My emo-ness is starting to get on my own nerves, so I am really trying to feel better. I don't want to be a debbie downer. It's not really like me.

When we are down we often imagine things which are the furthest from the truth to bring ourselves down even further (Ironic isn't it?). It's obvious that your friend couldn't make it becuase of some personal issues. The fact that your friend had some personal issues to attend to when you needed a get away only says to me that he/she is not a very good friend and this casts no negative light on you.

What you need to do is to do stuff that makes you feel good about yourself. Treat your self and know that you are worth it.

I would suggest taking a long warm bath with lots of candles so that you'll feel well-rested and relaxed. Get up, dress real nice and go out and do something very nice, something that you normally wouldn't do that would make you feel good.

Get a massage, manicure, pedicure or what ever, as long as you feel that you are indulging your self.

When you feel a bit better, you'll have more energy to write a good resume and applying for new jobs.

    Starbuck hang in there.

Even though I haven't lost my job I can identify because I have had a series of unfortunate things happen to me in the last couple of weeks. This is why I haven't been coming to LF as often.

It's tough to ride these waves of depression and to get back out there. Don't be too harsh on yourself though. Losing your job is a difficult thing to handle. You are not getting depressed for no reason at all. The remedy really is finding a job that you enjoyed as much as your last. Just keep pluggin away and sending off your CV as much as you can.
