Friends still write on late friend's wall

A friend of mine passed away a few months ago; viral meningitis. I didn't know him very well, but I was sympathetic towards his death. I think it is just plain ****ing weird that people still write on his wall on Facebook though. He's dead; he can't read his wall or respond to it anymore. Why are people still doing that? It's creeping me out.

Wow, it's pretty unusual for someone to die from viral meningitis... are you sure it wasn't bacterial?

Anyway, people all grieve differently. I guess some of his friends take comfort in being able to see his web-page. Better that than drown themselves in liquor, I suppose.

Many people like communicating through some form or another with people who have passed away. Traditionally, at the grave, i guess. Facebook is just another outlet for that, maybe it make his friends feel better or closer to him.

Which ever one is deadly. I thought viral was more deadly.

People write messages on his wall like every day. More than those who write on my wall! That's a slap in the face, not that I am jealous or anything.

There are people that ask him how he is doing and shit. Saying "See you soon" and what the hell. They need to lay off the reefer! Which is actually kind of funny, because the only people that write on his wall are his old druggy pals.

Why are you reading a dead man's wall? just as creepy.

hell no..i would drown myself in liquor until i feel better...

however, yes, by reminiscing over the past is just another way that people deal with death.

A guy back at my high school commited suicide and thus a facebook group was formed in his memory. I don't mind it as it allows for a lot of people overseas to know about it (good when it comes to international schools), but personally I prefer more solid ways of remembering someone.

It's kind of seems like some of them do it to make themselves look good.
