I believe honesty is the best policy so I'll always be straightforward about my age. Plus, I previously dated someone who lied about his age for the first couple of months of our relationship, and that really wasn't cool. I ended up forgiving him, but not forgetting how it felt to be lied to like that. He didn't even come clean...he waited until I caught him in the lie!

I think after a while of talking to strangers, and dating them...
you can tell just by how they are reacting to your questions, or If they show a different body language or slight little
indications like facial features ( wrinkles, hair, style ) that you know what age range they'll be.

I've had many incidents, where I either guessed someones exact age or was off by 1-3, just by what they
were telling me and how they were talking to me and what body language they showed.

P.S. I get incidents of myself, where people think I'm older, and others where I'm younger.
Eventually age isn't a concern anymore, and you just live your life with the best suitable candidate.
