Black and white don't exist- they're constructs to help control freaks think they can always be right, always be in charge.

That is a good point Giga... but if you thought of the ethical side when facing tough situations... do not you yourself have a say about it based on the fact you view it as Right or Wrong?

Having personal integrity and a strong code of ethics is not the same thing as seeing the world in absolutes.

And the gears will spin and the sinners sin, but at least we'll give them hell
And the righteous few will spit on you, so bid them all farewell
We're going down, down, down to Mephisto's Cafe
We're going down (Right?) (Right!)

So **** the flocks of sheep that keep amassing masses
Asses being led so far astray
And I won't claim to believe the things I read
Black books or agenda magazine
I'd rather see in shades of gray
Lyrics from one of my favorite songs from my favorite band.

But yes, I'd rather go grey than black and white.

Grey is so much more interesting.

You know what Frasbee, B&W need a fighter in life... things do not go easy for such people. I also admit that grey means we are more flexible and more capable of solving problems..

That's why my kind of job often requires. I need to be flexible. I've learned not to be such a perfectionist. Sometimes, "good enough", is good enough. So much time can be wasted trying to make the frivolous things, perfect.

In my work , I waste alot of time adjusting the page setup, line spacing, font size, bold letters, ...etc BEFORE starting the main document!! that is a way to reach perfectness which consumes a lot of time.. I hope oneday I can be flexible and do 'good enough' jobs.

I don't think I fully understand what a "black and white" and "Gray" types are. I think most people are combination of both (and then some).

If it's a question of certainty and uncertainty I would say that I personally prefer to be certain than uncertain, though being certain can be boring thus some degree of uncertainty is required.

no one is clearly defined to a certain type. judging people as to being black and white like saying that everyone is either a male or female. and as we all know, there are those in-between ones, and those who you aren't sure what the f*ck they are.

if you don't have an open mind, you're idiotic close mind will only leave you bliss.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray

Ethics

* In a moral sense grey is either used
o pejoratively to describe situations that have no clear moral value, or
o positively to balance an all-black or all-white view (for example, shades of grey represent magnitudes of good and bad).
So say for example, if you would ask a person on his or her view on Hitler, you'd get either.

a.) Black and white response - He was evil, and that's that.

b.) Gray response - Much of what he did was cruel, but some of his actions had good reasoning behind it.

At least that's how I interpret it.

I'm a person who really loves the gray areas. Some things are just so complex and controversial, it's just ignorant and naive to look at them with a black & white mindset.

But then again, there are other things that shouldn't have a gray area at all. For an extreme example, child pornography.

I try and apply my views realistically to the situation at hand.
