How do other people take loveforum?

I spoke to some of my better friends about places like loveforum, mostly curious to see their reactions. I was surprised to see that many of my friends think its wierd that I would even think about visiting a place like this (too late). It doesn't really bother me. I love getting help and giving other people help.

So, I'm curious, as many of you are in a different age bracket than I, how do other people take loveforum? Have you told anyone?

Honestly I don't really care what other people think about forums. What I think is most important for me. I haven't asked anyone I know about what they think about forums, but I know some of my freinds interact with others in one way or the other via a forum on internet.

It's the way of the future.

I'm writing a paper for uni at the moment on overcoming barriers to innovation and a lot of the newer trends come back to the decentralized model which centers around web portals and forums. It seems to be the best way to innovate. IBM for example has a portal with close to 100,000 innovators in a forum based environemnt discussing ideas, innovations, tests, score cards and in the end they come up with products accepted by both the innovators and end users who are also part of the forum environment. As the world shifts further and further online forums culture will become part of our culture. I'm ready to debate this with anyone.

I used to care, but not anymore. I agree with Mish, its the current technology. Ppl used to be afraid of telephones also. And I write a lot so its a mode that is comfortable for me.

I most enjoy the diversity of personality I find online. Except for a few close friends & family, I find most of the ppl I interact with IRL intellectually dull. In fact, most of them are boring beyond belief. Online I've found a few ppl whose minds I admire and its interesting to see what they choose to share of their thoughts.

I don't tell anyone which forums I go to (except sciencemadness, but that's a more technical forum). I keep that big Love Forum image at the top left of the screen out of view when other people are in my dorm room. If they started stalking my posts, they would be able to figure out who I was talking about

Most of the people in my life know I do this and none of them have shown any interest in checking it out but they haven't made any disparaging remarks either. I'm really a "nothing to hide" kind of person, so no dirty secrets.
