What does 'floss' mean?
Don't expect anything.
I've read this thread in upper amazement! I've never flossed my teeth in my life and my dentist never even recommended it. I can't even floss: I have this metal threads glued to the back of my teeth, to keep them in place after having braces... Those things disable flossing... I do use toothpicks though, because I can pick between my gums and the threads... But I think none of my friends and family members floss, never seen any of them doing it.. Maybe it's an American only thing? (I apologise beforehand if you're not all American who posted in here )
Your orthodontist was supposed to show you how to floss. It is a little more complicated with that semi-permanent retainer in place, but it can (and definitely SHOULD) be done.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
yup, they give you that little plastic loopy thing that is supposed to grab the dental floss. i used to have braces before.

...this is just my perspective on the situation...
You have to thread the floss underneath the wire, and then floss on top of the wire separately. Once you have had that wire on for a year or two, your regular dentist can remove it, which will make flossing much easier. In the meantime, even if you can only manage to do it a couple of times per week, that is better than nothing.
