I am pro-choice, and support the right of a woman to abort, but let's face it: it's an ugly choice, and certainly not one to make light of.
However, I also think a child deserves the best start in life they can get, which IMO is two parents that want them. Adoption could provide this.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
she barely knows the guy who got her pregnant?? that should be enough of an answer for your sister.

when you think about it, most of these unknown people cross your path through a friend or a one night stand. and if you're willing to have sex with them, then you'd better be ready for deal with the consequences.

Abortion is murder, period.
Why do you need permission or social approval to kill? You will still be a murderer.
If you force me to be 'understanding' with abortion, I would anyway ask for a chance of convincing the woman willing to abort to have the child, and I would do my best to avoid it.
Harsh.
If I were in her position, I'd change the course of my life and have that baby. I'd probably keep it, too, and make sure the father signed away all rights to it in a legally binding document. If that simply couldn't work, I'd give it up.
I think she's too old to use abortion as birth control. I'd be a lot more conflicted about that if she were in high school or something, but she isn't. A 23-year-old is an adult.

That's what you think. I have staff & students this young & some of these "Gen Me"ers can be shockingly immature. Tell them to do their job & they are as like to cry as to get down to business. Esp the one's still at home. 23 these days is NOT the same 23 as when we were young. Not all (no offense to those this age), some are mature but much fewer than previous generations. We were just discussing this w/a gal who also teaches at the local college over dinner last week. My husband finds the same thing w/his students. They're called "boomerangs", but I think the term "GenMe" fits a lot better.

Or scraping cheek cells out of your mouth. Which could become a human if you cloned them. Come to think, we shouldn't discard our spit, poop, hair, menstrual fluid for the same reason as they all contain some cells. God, my bathroom is gonna get really, really messy.
Oh Fras, you had to open the can didn't you, brat.

Of course I did.
I hate anti-abortionists.
Oh, come now. Every sperm is sacred, you know.

That boomerang thing is a new one on me. We Gen-X'ers are just really out of it sometimes, I guess.

I don't even know what generation I am anymore, they keep changing it.
