Looking into someone's eyes when talking

I'm wondering for casual or dates, is it more polite to look into someone's eyes as you are speaking?

I find that I look into their eyes when they are talking (meaning they look into my eyes when speaking), but am not comfortable with looking them in the eyes when I'm talking.

Part of it has to do with not wanting to see their expression... But I think looking into their eyes is more polite?

Looking somebody into the eyes while speaking is normal and it should not be applied to dates only. And all from all, how can such thing be applied at all, its normal. Where do you look then, when speaking to someone? Into titties? Down? Sounds some kind of ignorant. Looking someone into the eyes is shure way to gain enough attention and give respect back.

Different story is when you are walking side by side and talking, then you have to look out for several stuff. Thats why for me, walk is walk and talk is talk.

yeah definitely make eye contact, also the female's right eye which would be on your left is the best to look into......because of the left brain dominance in females, the right eye is controled by the left hemisphere so your communication is more effective when seen through that eye......

even if you don't want to beleive it, it will help you make eye contact
