Giving men roses?

I'm thinking of getting my bf roses for Christmas. I know it's usually the men who do this to their women, but I want to try something different. I think this will show that I appreciate him cuz he is sweet as a rose. Guys, how would you feel if your girl gives you a rose for Christmas?

Yes, a rose is a symbol of love. I would be grateful. Very considerate!

I think it depends more so on the person you give the rose. Some people do not appreciate symbols, and would rather have an iPod for example. Do you think your boyfriend would appreciate it? That's the question you should ask yourself. And if he doesn't like it, look on the bright side, it's not the last Christmas.

Let us know how it goes!

i thought of giving my bf roses because he told me that his current favorite song is Rose By Any Other Name by Teena Marie ft. Gerald Levert. So I'm thinking maybe the rose will symbolize something. But then I thought since he's a guy, and if he receive roses which is not the norm, he might think that I'm trying to make him the woman in the relationship. I don't know.

If you do get him a rose, you should explain to him the meaning you wanted to share.

I really don't know what to tell you about the woman in the relationship thing. My personal opinion is that something would have to be wrong with him if he was offended by it.

I think it's sweet. Maybe give him a note or a card to explain and set it up a little before you give him the rose. I mean, you don't just want to throw it at him and say, "Here ya' go!" As long as he understands the meaning behind it, I don't see how he could be offended.

I think if you gave him one Rose, it would be very symbolic

Haha! Some of you guys can be such hypocrites! This thread reminded me of another one: http://www.loveforum.net/personal-development-forum/19987-feminisation-men.html
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I'd typically find it kind of weird if a girl gave me a full bouquet of roses. That said, I have been given one rose on a few occasions, though they were always right after HUGE fights where I wasn't the one to blame, a rare occasion at best. IMO, one rose to go along with something else would be best.

I gotta say, if I got a bouquet of roses for Christmas, I'd be very weirded out.

All I can think of w/the single rose is 'A la folie, pas de tout' w/Audrey Tatou where she's stalking that guy.

Sounds like a single rose with a note explaining the symbolism and how you fee would work out best.
Hey, maybe in the note you should quote his favorite song too. That might be sweet.

I send my husband roses to his work place a few times a year, JUST BECAUSE. He loves it! Ive sent red and yellow. But why are you sending them at Christmas? Why not just out of the blue? I think its a great idea though!
everything happens for a reason...beginning to wonder why.
