Alright, so new Mathias situation. Are you shocked? Sadly, the games I play don't work when I get nervous.

Met a girl this Friday. Met at a party, we'll call her Amanda. She hangs out with a group of friends. One of the others really likes me, and one is an overweight girl who's determined to get in the way. Amanda and I hit it off pretty well, but nothing solid.

I go to my friend's party on Saturday night. We start flirting heavily. She grabs my hand for most of the night (finds excuses to, etc.), we flirt, but the overweight one keeps breaking us up and trying to get in the way. Amanda eventually gets my number. I get hers.

Fast-forward to today. A different mutual friend has informed me that the same cockblocker has told Amanda to "stay away from me" and that "he sleeps around". Do I ignore this? What's my next play with Amanda? I know she's gone this weekend, and we all have different Halloween plans at this point.

To be fair, I'm way outkicking my coverage on this one. Ugh, I literally hate this. I can play the game, and I can do relationshipy stuff. I absolutely CAN'T do the stuff in between.

Help.

I'd probably wait to see if Amanda follows cockblocker's advice. Women are well-known to disregard their friend's advice when they are attracted to a male.

Waiting is probably a bad move at this point, right? I at least need to call her today or tomorrow, unless I'm misunderstanding the situation. I just don't know what to suggest when I do call her, since everything's crazy right now.

That's just my gut instinct, I have a tendency to be especially brash towards people I don't know.

Maybe you could just proceed on as if you didn't know about this conversation. Go ahead and ask Amanda out... see if she accepts or refuses. If you feel you are getting the brush-off, then you could just resort to telling her you know what cockstopper said, that you feel it was an unfair characterization, and that you hope she will give you the opportunity to prove it to her.

EDIT: be sure to mention you don't think she seems like other girls... you know... flatter her a bit (but be genuine).

Ask her out for a day you are available. Have an alternative option in mind, in case she is unavailable. And yes, call her right away. If you haven't talked to her since Friday, she is probably on the verge of believing you aren't going to call her at all.

We haven't talked technically since Sunday morning. She texted me to make sure I got home okay at 3:00 AM Sunday morning, I replied around 10:00.
