My girlfriend totally asked me to an internet date that we "went on" just last night.
This is like a whole new level of geekiness for me, or should I say "us"?
Anyway, a few nights ago we had this really intense conversation that just reminded us of little more than how different we are. It's hard sometimes because we agree on so many other things, we dwell on the differences for the sake of the conversation.
Unlike normal couples who don't live hundreds of miles away from each other we obviously can't just interact on a regular basis. We've tried playing some internet games before but her wireless internet at her apartment sucks. So she suggested we go on a "date", which really just meant, she'd go to an internet cafe where there's a strong connection.
And so we spent 2 hours just playin' silly things like go-fish, battleship, and chess.
And it was actually fun. Just in that it was another means in spending time with her without dwelling on something to talk about.
