on that note, the word hot is spread around to easily. I don't even really know what it means....other then a girl looks really good. But then anyone your attracted to is hot, so i don't know, but hot is overused.

There, I fixed it.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

No I didn't. And the two sentences do not conflict with each other. A "hot average girl" to me is a girl that is basically somewhat better looking than the average looking girl. Compared to a smoking hot girl where her looks are no where near average looking.

I know it is a matter of semantics, but you must have missed Giga's point. It shouldn't be that men are "helping" women by participating in routine home care, because that implies the responsibility is really HERS and he is just being a good guy by "helping out". The responsibility is shared. You would never see a woman say "I am a great woman because I help out with the household chores".
I did read Giga post. But the responsibility is shared if the husband goes to work and brings home the money to pay for the things around the house that the wive keeps up.

What about the average-looking girls? No room for them? Because I hate to break it to you, but most men are average-looking. Why should they demand or expect "hot" girls?

Yes, but we were talking about women who work *outside* the home.

Gribble - your future wife will have to sleep with one eye open.

I never said I don't go after average looking girls. Hell, I that is the group of girls I go after. I do have very little room if any for the very attractive girls out there, due to my own personal history with such girls.

CAM, I don't know what men expect of women, but I think that what women expect of themselves is almost impossible. I know I'm barely able to hold it together sometimes, and it's difficult for me to see what I should do.

Once again, I blame the media and the economic system based on limitless growth that is behind it. If we didn't all think we have to live in a 6-bedroom McMansion and drive a Hummer to be considered successful, maybe both parents could spend some more time at home, cooking dinner together and spending time with their kids.

Maybe if there weren't such a precedent of successful men dumping their wives for girls half their age, women would feel a little more secure about not developing themselves professionally. The society I want to live in would censure such an act, not uphold it as proof of virility.

Maybe if families looked at each other as much as they look at the TV, there would be a bit more cohesion. At this point, I'm aware of several marriages that are held together by nothing beyond shared debt.

Pretty bleak, ain't it?
The debt part, absolutely bleak. I myself live well within my means, but I have limited "wants" I just like a very simple life--the rest of the paycheck gets invested....and I'm just a middle class Joe. I iron my own clothes, I do the maintenance work on a modest home, I clean, I cook. Its not onerous--plus the cleaners can't iron as well as I can and the restaurants don't cook as well as I do!

If one has limited "wants" and one has finished high school...in the US, most folks could more than survive on the average paycheck for a skilled high school graduate (w/o a criminal record)... ~$30,000...its all the trinkets that are tempting and a waste of ****ing money.

The lifestyle you describe as being an option (no Hummer, no six bedroom house)...Amen, my friend. I couldn't agree with you more. This materialism is damned sick today. That's why the husband and wife in Middle Class Land both work...for the ****ing goodies that they don't really need anyway.

Nobody would ever guess that I could have all those things, but choose not to. The truth: the only reason I work is because I like my job...and that's pretty much it. I choose not to have the trinkets, preferring instead to donate to worthy causes.

Give up the trinkets (like you said) and wife stays home and helps family make a modest but rewarding life.

That's why you (Giga) ought to get that chef of yours to marry you

Oh, by the way...the reason that media wants to get women out in the workforce and presents them as "Can Do Everything" Super Moms...its because the media is loaded with Super Feminist Socialist Bitches who actually are getting exactly what they want...namely, to destroy the family and to set men and women at each other's throats. They see the traditional family as inherently evil.

CAM all the media cares about is money and power. They could a rats ass about the feminist. The media only promotes it and uses it because it is what is working for them right now.

Heres a good article from a males view on why feminism is stupid:

http://www.ukmm.org.uk/issues/masc.htm

Yes it is a bit dated, but I think it still applies today. And I do think this whole feminist thing should be done with. I have no problem working along side with a female. But I do not want to work with a female that thinks because they are female they over power me and are entitled to certain things. I also bet a lot of the feminist are materialistic as well.

I also bet the feminist blame the high divorce rate on us men and/or other things and not them selves. But all in all, I am getting tried of this whole feminist society thing. And this is just another reason why I will be getting a pre nup so that if I do I get a divorce my ex wife won't be able to rape me as badly.

Oh, please. Don't be feminist haters. You men let a few whack-job women label the entire movement. Do you also allow the Black Panthers to define the entire Civil Rights movement? Do you only allow suicide bombers to define all of Islam, or are the snake handlers and people speaking in tongues representative of all Christians?

Here is the definition of feminism, and only a misogynist wouldn't support it.

fem·i·nism
–noun 1. the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.
