It also sounds like you aren't properly lubricated. If you aren't aroused enough to produce your own natural lubrication, then you need to use something. Friction and soreness indicate tissue damage, which leaves you more suseptible to infection.
If you are taking birth control pills, they may be playing a role in your decreased ability to lubricate properly and in your diminished sex drive. I am not telling you to NOT practice birth control, but rather that you might want to check this out with your doctor. Also, I hope you continue using condoms.
