What is it that keeps the regulars in internet forums around?
One of the biggest reasons, I think, are the friendships we make here. during my time there were a lot of quality people who posessed intelligence, maturity, good humor, or a combination of those traits who made it a community of people that to some degree created this pseudo social life, even if it would seem like it's a contradiction.
I think, however, that most of those who are consistent have another trait in common: Time in their hands to go online and read through the countless threads and find those worth commenting on.
During the "golden age" of my time here that was definitely the case. I had internet access at work and loads of time to check one thread after another and find all the meaningful threads and all the funny dialogues.
I hope to get into a routine to be around more again, but I doubt that it'll be like it was before. I just don't have the time to look through every thread myself and see where my favorites are posting and whether it's something that's interesting to me.
In any case, it's nostalgic that things come to an end, wouldn't you say?
