    Tendencies

What is it that keeps the regulars in internet forums around?

One of the biggest reasons, I think, are the friendships we make here. during my time there were a lot of quality people who posessed intelligence, maturity, good humor, or a combination of those traits who made it a community of people that to some degree created this pseudo social life, even if it would seem like it's a contradiction.

I think, however, that most of those who are consistent have another trait in common: Time in their hands to go online and read through the countless threads and find those worth commenting on.

During the "golden age" of my time here that was definitely the case. I had internet access at work and loads of time to check one thread after another and find all the meaningful threads and all the funny dialogues.

I hope to get into a routine to be around more again, but I doubt that it'll be like it was before. I just don't have the time to look through every thread myself and see where my favorites are posting and whether it's something that's interesting to me.

In any case, it's nostalgic that things come to an end, wouldn't you say?

Hey man, nice to see ya back around.

2005-2006 I wasn't around at all because my life also took me away from the internet and such. My AmeriCorps year was the best year of my life so far. I stopped by every now and then, but yeah, I understand not having the time or patience to sit through all the junk that gets posted in here.

    Regardless, how ya been amigo?

Good, Frisbee, I've been good. Living in Chihuahua the last year and few months. Good to see you're back around. Email me about how it went, in summary, with the americorps. I used to get your updates every now and then.

I gotta be honest, if it weren't for the fact that I work on computers during the day and write papers and essays on my laptop during the evenings, you probably wouldn't see me at all. I'm not really the internet type.

That said, I think most of you guys are smart and interesting, so I'm glad I have a reason to be at a computer so often. Given the choice, though, I prefer face-to-face interaction over forums and e-mails.

i will admit that there are times when i want to sit behind a desk all day and do nothing but surf the internet, but when i get home to relax after a hard day of work, what do i do then?? drink and surf the net?? hell no. i won't lie, i do get jealous of those of you who have internet access at work, but then when i really think about it, it would only last a moment till i get tired of it. hell i actually love running around all day with the constant moments that help me pass time.

what keeps me here?? wow as i look back at time, it's been years since i started posted on this site. i know i don't post like i used to because when i come home from work, i'd rather drink and do other things that drink and read posts,... i don't like to pay too much attention to other things when i'm drunk. but there are the times that i come back and bring around my sense of humor to this party and reminisce of the better days haha.

Why have I stuck around for the past 2 years? Because I have made eFriends, and I enjoy helping people with their relationships.

Not only that, but I can share interests, and get help for almost anything on here.

    And there's a poem section!

    Yo!

Yeah I know what you mean about it being nostalgic looking back at LF. As you may or may not of noticed I barely post at all more. And its not because I've started a new life, its not that I now go out and meet people in the real world, far from it! I assure you guys on here that you haven't been replaced in that sense. I confess I probably use instant messaging more than is healthy and I'm definitely hooked on the Internet. Anyway, the main reason I haven’t posted so much lately, is I've spent more time watching TV and working on my research project.

Anyway I still drop by fairly regularly to skim through the latest posts etc. Just now realise that most of my previous posting consisted of meaningless waffle, and if I post too often on these boards that’s what it seems to tend towards.

However, I do miss sharing relationship insights with you guys and I freely admit I'm still probably in desperate need of yet more enlightenment from the Love Gurus among you (Gigabitch this means you!).

I also loved the witty banner bit, but since certain people were banned, the high confrontation levels that seemed to fuel my frequent posting dropped and I guess I drifted away to other electronic screen related activities.

Nice to add in one-off posts every once in a while though... who knows some day I may even return as a full time poster... You've Been Warned...

Man, I used to come on here to try and stay awake when I'm at work. The humor, the flirting, everything. Now, the downtime I have is spent trying to develop different ideas I have at work, troubles that I never imagined having, and just lost in thoughts. Mostly lost in thoughts trying to figure out where the heck I want to be. Or as my dear friend said today, we finally have a life and a stoned friend who will entertain me wth his bull.

I come here to take the focus off the stuff in my life. It reminds me that other people have problems too. If I can help them, then I try to do so.

Also, gotta love the regulars.... (you know who you are and the list would be too long!) ( Plus, I don't wanna leave anyone out..)
Appreciate the good times and learn from the bad times....

Damn, I guess I'm NOT back yet. It took me for ever to get back to this thread.

Hey, raverboy, guess what? I went to a Tiesto Rave a couple of weeks ago! But I had to work the next day so I didn't take any drugs, consequently I didn't have as good a time as the rest of the sweating, lolipop-sucking, water drinking ravers.

    Maybe next time...

damn i wouldn't mind seeing him live. lucky guy. as for raves.. haha i haven't been to a rave in years. although i don't really care to be around sweaty people jumping around to a good beat, i do miss it. speaking of which, it sounds like just about any club that i do to however i don't particularly care for the music.

i think now i'm more laid back. i'd rather go to a chilled out bar and just drink with friends, even that rarely happens these days. why does everyone have to grow up??

I am hooked like a junkie. Besides, I like a lot of the regulars.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Raver, it was pretty neat seeing him live, mainly because of the ambiance. Everyone was pumped for it. Kinda like going to a ball game, live. You get a better view from TV with replays and all, but being in a game you get to feel the energy of the game and be part of it. I also bought this tiesto T-shirt before we went in:

And before you ask, the girl is jus some random chick. There were like 5 busses full of people from my city (Chihuahua) who went to the concert in Juarez (bout 4 hours away) and she was on my bus.

yup, that's exactly how i would describe it. it's the energy and just being there to see someone live that makes it all worth while. a got to see kimball collins spin a few times, and for those smaller raves, i was literally infront on his podium watching him work. it was amazing i tell you.

as for the girl.. i know that you're a stud, you don't have to tell me. you meet girls all the time and they can't stay away from you. it's a good thing you repel guys like me because one meeting in vegas was good enough for me. hahah j/k.
