Awkward Silence?

With this one girl, I can't seem to go on without 'Silence' bumping in.
When she's with other people, she seems to be so open with them

But she's a little shy with me, not completely open. When I talk with her, the silence takes over at times.. and there's absolutely nothing to say at all..
Doesn't make any sense, she's the type of person who laughs a lot and plays around.. It's like she's afraid I'll dislike her.

Girls, what do y'all like to talk about?? Like something that you're interested on and have opinions to keep it going? What can I talk about with her??

Btw, we're not completely OFF from boredom, we do have our fun, but I'm just asking what are some things that girls like to talk about?

Memorize about 5 jokes. As soon as it gets silence tell a joke. From that joke you can try to find a new topic.

Make up what you think she might be thinking and tell her. Make it funny. Things like, "Oh, my God, it's quiet again. Why doesn't he say anything? Ooo! Look at that purse! I'm hungry. Back to the purse."
