I read both of these books. I liked them both, but liked "Into Thin Air" better. In fact, I liked it so much, I stayed up till around 4 in the morning to finish it, and then had nightmares about it afterwards..
The guy in "Into the Wild" was generally an idiot in my opinion, and therefore less sympathetic.
