hehe, yep, that's them...the jungle boots. Nice tight fit, good grips. My only complaint is that they don't have steel toes (the grommets are metal, so they can't pass through metal scanners anyway, why not have steel toes?) and they're cold as hell in winter. Not a good winter boot for prolonged exposure unless you maintain a high level of exertion. However, I absolutely love them in winter for casual day-to-day wear...the Panama sole doesn't clog with snow, you can't get snow in your boot 'cause the top seals up so nice and snug, and with a bit of polish, they even look decent, if a bit industrial.

These may not be the prettiest boot, but sometimes you need to take a utilitarian outlook on things. These boots are so freakin' comfortable despite their bulky appearance and they keep my feet warm in dry in the deep snow and icy rain. Nicely cushioned sole too. This company also supplies the military. And is very reasonably priced compared to such brands as "Danner".

I just bought these beauties, same design as the all leather combat, just with a more aggressive sole. It's not as flexbile as the panama, but it provides much better shock protection and of course better traction. Not great for winter either as it still doesn't provide insulation, so you'd still have to wear nice wool/acrylic socks.

JUNGLE boots is the key word here 'wing.

They're made for hot weather.

If you're looking for somethin' to keep your foot warm Altama is not the place to look.
