Do you believe in Self Reincarnation...?

Me and Justin had a convo about this very subject. What do you guys think?

Aaron says:
Im sure other life forms out there don't even have to eat. They probably live alot differently than we do

Aaron says:
So there would be no need to kill another living thing just to get IT inside of you so you can live

Aaron says:
and do it again later

Aaron says:
and repeat

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
What if...

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
They live for one week

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Then die

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Oo

Aaron says:
Thats possible

Aaron says:
Some kind of life form only living for a week

Aaron says:
maybe someday you will be that creature

Aaron says:
When you die. You will become a new

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
If reincarnation is true that is

Aaron says:
Probably is

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
I think its Self Reincarnation

Aaron says:
I mean, where else can one go

Aaron says:
?

Aaron says:
after you die? what can one go?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Heaven/Hell

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
If existing

Aaron says:
...

Aaron says:
I don't see how such places can exist

Aaron says:
Unless

Aaron says:
UNLESS!!!

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Parallel Universe

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
kthx.

Aaron says:
I don't believe in hell. I mean, how do you know what is good and bad? humans never had a real guidance

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
True. True.

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
But what about Self Reincarnation?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
What if.

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
When you die

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Your life just restarts

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
It explains De je Vue

Aaron says:
whoa...

Aaron says:
How is that possible..?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Which also means people live in their own parralel universe

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
People live in their own time and space

Aaron says:
So...My fate will always be the same..?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Always.

Aaron says:
everytime.

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
It wont matter

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Because you'll forget everything at death

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
De je vue is just reminents of your memory

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
From your past life

Aaron says:
So, I probably talked to you 1000th time already

Aaron says:
eh

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
No

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Infinite

Aaron says:
That can't be...

Aaron says:
lol

Aaron says:
oh jeez so many theorys

Aaron says:
But what about this

Aaron says:
A baby dying at birth

Aaron says:
will his fate be the same?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Yes

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
A boring life

Aaron says:
How did you think life started?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
It didnt

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Its always existed

Aaron says:
How can that be?

Aaron says:
There had to be a beginning

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Is there a beginning of a circle?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
No

Aaron says:
Than how did the circle begin?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
It was always there

Aaron says:
So...I already died..

Aaron says:
If this is true

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Yes.

Aaron says:
I don't know how but...

Aaron says:
Sometimes, I felt like I did something before, even though I never did

Aaron says:
its weird
Aaron says:
You probably dont believe me but

Aaron says:
eh

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
I do believe you

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Its true

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
You have done it before

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Millions of times

Aaron says:
Is this what you believe in?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
It also means time is not existant

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
I believe more in christianity, But this is a feasible idea
Aaron says:
So you believe in heaven and hell?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Somewhat

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
My idea is so much better though

Aaron says:
You are probably not the first

Aaron says:
to think of this

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
I could be
Aaron says:
There is nothing on the internet about it

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Then I am the first

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
>_>

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Wrong

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
I am not

Aaron says:
I thought so

Aaron says:
I had ideas as well

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
There are many other people

Aaron says:
My mom believes once your dead. your dead

Aaron says:
your like..nothing at all

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Thats dumb

Aaron says:
really?

Aaron says:
I mean, think about. You won't even know you exist
<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
True

Aaron says:
Thats what she believes

Aaron says:
but I can't even picture that in that head

X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Nothing can exist without Something

Aaron says:
so...

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
So you cant just be dead once you die

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Nothing. Does not exist.

Aaron says:
What do you think..

Aaron says:
The meaning of life is..?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
42

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Lol

Aaron says:
?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
A joke

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Im not sure about the meaning of life.

Aaron says:
Well, no one knows but

Aaron says:
Whats your opinion? whats your guess?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
None

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Lol

Aaron says:
So our existence have no meaning?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Basically

Aaron says:
We must be here for a purpose...

Aaron says:
If we exist.

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
I havnt thought about the meaning of life

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
So i cant discuss much about it

Aaron says:
hmm

Aaron says:
Let me think

Aaron says:
If we only have our own lifes...than...

Aaron says:
History never really happened

X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
It did
Aaron says:
hmm

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Everyone was born at the SAME time

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
But in there own time and space

Aaron says:
Do you believe there are other life forms out there

Aaron says:
beyond the universe

Aaron says:
Way way way way beyond

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
It doesnt matter

Aaron says:
Well yea.... but still

Aaron says:
do you think..?

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Its possible

<X>Justin<X> Poor Pluto says:
Its HIGHLY likely

It found it quite interesting to say the least until I read:

I think most of that was nonsensical silliness.
you're debating about where "you" go after you die. Which means you hold that your body and your "self/soul/essence/mind/whatever" are separate. There are tons and tons of literature on dualism (the idea that physical matter such as your body and soul/mind/whatever are separate) out there of course, which I am not familiar with, so I can't comment very extensively beyond saying I personally think it's mostly BS. The theories I've heard about where 'you' go after your body dies require so much bending of logic that the much more likely truth is that when you die, all of you dies and that's it. If you don't like this idea, ask yourself if maybe it is because you are biased against accepting the idea of yourself dying permanently?
Look at this way; I can lead a happy balanced life believing without a doubt that when I die I will be completely dead and there is nowhere for me to 'go' after I die because i'll be DEAD and gone. I can hear you saying 'you can't just disappear', so let me rephrase that; I believe that the arrangement of matter that allowed my brain and therefore my consciousness to function will cease to be arranged in that particular way; that is, my corpse will decompose.
The fact that some people are so discomforted by their mortality that they need to theorize about one-week-living aliens makes me wonder whether those people are just doing so in order to comfort themselves, not in pursuit of truth.

yaaay! somebody read hitchhikers guide. Then maybe you've already heard this quote by the author Douglas Adams that I think is kind of relevant here;

If you try and take a cat apart to see how it works, the first thing you have in your hands is a non-working cat. Life is a level of complexity that almost lies outside our vision; is so far beyond anything we have any means of understanding that we just think of it as a different class of object, a different class of matter; 'life', something that had a mysterious essence about it, was god given—and that's the only explanation we had. The bombshell comes in 1859 when Darwin publishes 'On the Origin of Species'. It takes a long time before we really get to grips with this and begin to understand it, because not only does it seem incredible and thoroughly demeaning to us, but it's yet another shock to our system to discover that not only are we not the centre of the Universe and we're not made of anything, but we started out as some kind of slime and got to where we are via being a monkey

I haven't read much on reincarnation, thus the interest.

Do you believe in Self Reincarnation????

My last topic didn't do very well because I posted a convo I had on msn and no one really bothered to read it. So I'll just explain it myself.

Anyway..

Self Reincarnation.

Do you believe that once you die, Your life just starts over again? It would explain Deja vu.

Which also means people live in their own parralel universe. People live in their own time and space and our fate will always be the same. De Je vue is just reminents of your memory...

This is just my theory. I do believe in other things of course but tell me what you think and if you disagree. Tell me why? I mean it is possible. De Je vue people..

No. I think reincarnation is something thought up by people who can't face the idea that once you are gone, you are gone for good.

Same for Heaven, by the way.

No. When you die, you die and that's it. There is no God, in my opinion, or Heaven or Hell. When you die, you get burned, given to science, or have your family get ripped off by whoever is selling a casket so that your body can get gnawed on and devoured by maggots, slowly, while the carbon dioxide builds up--only to make the casket explode with your guts still inside them.

^^ And that's my belief.

Well, not really, because then you have to worry about whether or not you have endorsed the right brand of religion to gain entry (at least that is the case for the Christian religions).

But I wish I could be like you. I would like to have that good feeling, too. (I am not being sarcastic.)

I disagree with reincarnation. I already said why in your other thread.

to quote Douglas Adams again:
This, to me, suggests such a level of silliness and muddle that I usually edge out of the conversation rather than get sucked into it. (If it turns out that I’ve been wrong all along, and there is in fact a god, and if it further turned out that this kind of legalistic, cross-your-fingers-behind-your-back, Clintonian hair-splitting impressed him, then I think I would chose not to worship him anyway.)
You have to accept jesus as your saviour and be a good chrisitan and all before you'll get into heaven. What you're doing is just clinging to the idea of heaven for your own piece of mind- which is fair enough, as far as I'm concerned- Enjoy.

Otherwise, you'll be burning in Hell for the rest of eternity. And let's not forget; God loves you infinitely.

I am always struck by the irony of people characterizing the God of the Old Testament as harsh and punishing while calling the God of the New Testament kind and forgiving. The God of the OT punishes but ultimately forgives, but the God of the NT is kind and loving until you die.
