what makes you come back to a girl over and over again?
i mean if you are just courting a girl then she turned you down for the first time, after a month or so, you come back to pursue your intentions then she turned you down again (for the 2nd time)...... then you still come back and still want to prove your feelings....

Not everybody does this. Only the really dumb rats never make it through the maze.
Some guys get fixated, like Pit Bulls. What can you do? Turn the hose on them, I guess.
