Broke up, but can't really get over her?

So I broke up with my girlfriend about 5 months ago

When I see her now, I know I don't want to be with her. But when I don't see her, I start missing her and want to be with her.

She is interstate at the moment so haven't seen her for a month or so and really missing her.

What gives? What can I do?

When you don't see her, your putting her on a pedestal in your mind. The only thing you can really do is move on and try to meet new people! Also, Keep in mind WHY you don't want to be with her anymore.

Personally I think absence makes it easier to move on.

when you are not with you, you are only thinking of those happier times because you are lonely. when you are with her, you remember why you hated her and then you realize that you're better off without her.
