Last night the ex contacted me. Why? To see how I was after a few major upheavals in my private life.
I dont get it.
Should I read into this more than I am? We were both friendly in conversation.

He's just seeing how you've been after your upheavals, I wouldn't read in to it.
It'll only lead to trouble IMO.

What has happened in your life lately? What were the major upheavals?
How did she know about them???
Oh just a few things that were mentioned when they happened. A little contact was made and nothing else. Now she has came back again into contact when there is no need.
Hmmm, I still don't understand. I guess you dont' want to say too much, which is fair.
So you called her up when some big events happened, and now she is phoning you to follow up and see how you are doing?
I am guessing that if she wants to be friends with you.....but you broke contact because it was too hard to just be friends only............and then you contacted her to tell her about recent events in your life...she probably took that as a sign that you wanted or needed her as a friend in your life again, so she is stepping into that role...because you've invited her there.
But if it was completely unsolicited adn she is just phoning up. Yah, I can imagine that must be messing with your brain (and your heart).
I'm in early days here of a break up and although I had an amazing night out with the ex recently, I'm wondering if being friends maybe isn't such a good idea after all. I have the same questions - he phones me up? Why? Just like that? What does he want?

What's that phrase...? Oh yeah: "What've you done for me, lately?"
Speak less. Say more.
i'm still trying to figure out why ex's don't just drop right off the face of the earth.
It is our duty to kill them if they do not drop off the face of the earth.Originally Posted by misombra

just seen the woman who i was seein during a patchy time in my marriage, she was off work for a month just after we were coming to terms with the the split.......glad she gave me the space, she had some issues and so did i, it was a mind blast just to see her and as we said hi whilst gettin coffee it was quite overpowering...seems so wierd we were just talkin like mere acquantences..........if only we could read minds eh?
Sorry for the delay in replying. The contact is still happening. Now I have fell back into replying. Its only friendly concern I know, but its heartbreaking. We almost spoke on the phone a few days ago but it never happened.
Love is a terrible, terrible drug. I have tried to get this girl out of my head. Being active, spending time with friends, chatting up other girls. Yet she is there inside me as ever. I can even predict when she is going to contact me via SMS.
Sounds to me like you are getting caught up again...If it's so heartbreaking, why are you still speaking to her?
ignore him
