Relationship with my friend?

I had the weirdest most Brilliant night last night, I think this is more of a vent thread than asking for advice. A Great Valentines Day.

Well yesturday I went to my friends house party it was really good, first we watched a couple of films and started getting kinda cosy, like he started leaning on me putting his hand onto mine and stuff, I didn't mind this it was really nice, we were pretty much like this all day. Then he kissed me, which kinda freaked me because we've been friends for about 8 years.

Later on every body was getting drunk (because it was a party) we went upstairs because he said he wanted to talk, he told me he's been love with me for about a year, this totally shocked me! We ended up having sex (wow maybe I am a slut after all). It was really good, kinda felt like making love (felt right). The thing is he is my Ex-s best friend, which is gonna be strange. We've decided to start dating, Is this a good idea? I don't really want a b/f but I want to see if this works out.

Another thing at the party my ex was there with his new girl friend (they were doing major PDA's I was cringing) I didn't get involved with my friend because he was there to make him jelous, because it happened before he got there and I didn't know he was coming.

Sorry about going on, just need to get this off my chest, I feel weird.

Yeah I see my friend about 1-3 times a week, and have started getting closer recently, I've never found him that attractive but his personality is Awesome (really funny). When we got up this morning he was being really nice checking if I was ok, hugging me etc, he's a very carring/considerate nice guy. We're going for food and Cinema on Sunday which should be cool. I haven't told any of my other friends what happened though. Thanx, I think I will just go with the flow. Yup he took me home and is gonna call me later when he leaves work. :]

Me and the ex kept exchanging snide remarks all night, I have no feelings for him what so ever. I felt kind of awkward at first espcially as his new g/f was there, but she seemed nice.
