    What does "take care" mean.

If you had started seeing someone, but had to cease breifly do to unforseen circumstances and once they were over you contacted them because you wanted to get back into it...what would you think if the other person said "take care" at the end of their message? Does it sound like he doesn't intend on seeing you again? I'm just unsure how to read this guy, because in the next message he wrote "I hope to see you soon too."

I know it's stange and I do tend to over read things, but depending on who I talk to some people think "take care" is a positive thing while others think it's negative. Personally I think it's negative and it's over.

I'm curious to hear what other people think.

It can also be neither. Just a manner of speaking. Since you got two sign-offs, pick the one you like best and respond to it.

It means I like you, and I want you to "take care" so you are still alive next time I see you.

There are not many things I fear in life, but disappointing you is my greatest.

I love you even with your flaws... I love you because of your flaws.

this is exactly what it means ... or it can be taken as a "good night " or "see you soon " ... i think you overanalyze thses things ...

its just a simple phrase which is always used.. like good bye, see you.... it's neutral (neither +ve nor -ve).

Thanks everyone...but as predicted, there have been mixed opinions. At this stage I'm totally laughing about me even caring so much...it's amazing what a couple of good nights sleep do for you. This has actually helped me to move on from the situation. Thanks guys! I'm going to keep posting on here no matter how stupid the question.

    All up for harmony's post..

I don't know one way or the other about either seeing or not seeing again, I've always used it like saying by, good morning, etc. It's generic, i think neither implying one or the other.

I wouldn't say it if I was angry or didn't wish someone only good things, but in life we never know if that somebody else is ever going to see you again, but all we're able to do if our feelings aren't being taken to shreds, is hope them no ill feelings, harm and a prosperous future.
