The point of no contact is for them to realize what life is like without you; day-to-day and beyond. They can't do that while they are still in contact with you, no matter how meaningless the conversation seems. It also gives both parties a better, more intellegient perspective because you will be thinking less with your heart/emotions and more with your brain.

Its recommended. If you don't do it, it will be harder to get over your ex. Keeping in contact won't do anything to help you, and will just make you miss your ex more when you talk to them.

In my experience;
If you want to get over her... Yes is works.
If you want to get back with her... No it doesnt work (most of the time).

Im sposed to get back with her in the future. Cuz we broke up just because distance. Im movin down there next year....
