I'm in the Philippines at the moment. I'm thinking of going back to the US to work. The pay I can ge there is way better than what I'm making now, but I'd have to sacrifice not seeing my son and hubby. kinda confused.

Woah. Shouldn't it be your hubby working overseas to get money?

In the early years of a kids life things change really fast and if you are gone a lot you will probably miss most of it. Many people that I know that were away during thier kids childhoods regret it.
at the same time you'll have to take this into consideration. you will be making probably more money in the US, however, things in the US are also more expensive. i'm not sure if you're familiar with hawaiian history, but after the plantation workers left their homes in the philippines, a lot of them never returned home, simply because they couldn't afford it.

Ha. Good one. I know you want whats best for your son, but sometimes you have to think about what's best for your family. Family is always more important, don't break it up. There has to be other alternatives.
well my mumis there to watch him.. of course i'm thinking of my family.. it's the whole reason i'm thinkin' of going. and i don't plan on staying very long..
have any of you lived in a 3rd world country? damn.. the pay here sucks!
.. oh yea. . i'd take em along, but unfortunately it isn't that easy with the embassy..
Just have one of these young bucks here marry you; no more embassy problems.Originally Posted by lovestruck
