    Love vs. Lust

Now I understand that there is no "standard" answer for this...but maybe you all can give me some insight...

How can you tell the difference between a love relationship and a lustful one? Not for judging whether what I felt was love or lust, but how to tell if the OTHER person is feel potential love, or just lust. Any words of wisdom?

Easy, wait for something to go wrong.

Based on how they react you can tell if they are feeling love or lust towards you.

Yep. Because they might not even know what they feel.

Hmmm....okay.....well how do I find out what type of relationship it is? I'm not interested in staying with someone if it is purely a lust relationship for them. I've already asked him if the relationship was only about sex...and he said it wasn't (actually he said, "how could it be?" because we've only had sex twice...good point...LOL)....but I don't know if he was just saying that.....

I am probably also just being the typical female....feeling more strongly for the guy sooner. But if it's only based on lust for him, I want to get out so that I don't get hurt, ya know?

Then, listen to some other posts..

If it's not broken, don't fix it. If you feel you need to ask him, then ask him. If not, settle for whatever it is you have.

Well what else can you do?

If you feel like he's being honest with you, just go with the flow. See how things go and make a decision after you've spent a bit more time together. Aside from a crystal ball, there's no way we can tell you, without knowing this guy, whether or not he's being honest with you when he says that. Sorry, darlin.

I have an idea; you and I, we'll get together and have a purely lustful relationship. Void of any deep emotion, more of the physicaly. Then, you can compare our relationship to the one you are currently experiencing.

    How's that sound?

Fair enough....I was just wondering if you all had found some "tried and (sorta) true" ways of seeing it. I'm very newly back into the dating game after a two year break from it....so everything is new to me again...I feel like a goofy love-struck 15 year old girl...it's fun and frustrating at the same time. Thanks for all your input!

LOL...I'll be sure to let you know if I need to figure this out by conducting a science experiment of sorts...
