    New relationship question...

I'd appreciate all advice on this question....from both males and female (both points of view on this would be great)...

What is the best reaction when a guy says "I love you" to a girl he's been dating for not very long....and the girl really likes the guy, but isn't sure that she's ready to say the big "L" word yet? The girl doesn't want to hurt the guys feelings, or put him off....but she also doesn't want to say "love" without meaning it.....what's the best way to deal with this? Thanks in advance for the advice!

    Alighty, Jebby.

Is this that guy who was your friend's ex or a new guy?

That's a short period. Umm. But yes, I stand by what I said here. If that's the way you feel towards him, then, that's the way you should say it. Focus on the good point (whatever it is.)

Yes, I know it hasn't been very long...but I just have a feeling that "it" will be said by him before I feel the same way....I like the guy....but not like that yet.......this is a question that I've always wondered about......I always worry about hurting the guys' feelings, or embarassing him.....especially after they work up the nerve to say it....

Well it would be worse if you lied and said it without meaning it you know? Just point that out to him if it does happen. At least you're being honest.

Right, but you also don't want to lie to them. Honesty is one of the foundation of a good relationship.

So saying something along the lines of, "I really like you...I also don't want to rush things too fast yet.......(insert any suggestions here)" wouldn't be too crushing then?

"I really like you" sounds good.
"isn't sure that she's ready to say the big "L" word yet"
"doesn't want to say "love" without meaning it"

I don't know about the rushing things part, since it doesn't have anything to do with your feeelings. Unless, you really don't want to be rushing things.

You are who you are. If you are not ready for the big "L" word. Then let him know. If it happens it happens. If he gets pissed then he isn't paying attention or wanting to understand your feelings. If he is understanding then he will also not have a problem waiting for it. But none the less don't lie to him. Lie once and it will be in the back of his mind for a long time during your relationship.
Experience is never gained until just after you needed it.

Luck - That is where opprotunity meets preperation.

Well now those pics are gone, so no one will know what I was talking about.
