Normally if I am interested in someone, I would try to get a read on them to see how to proceed. I know you are new to this, so it will tough to do so. I'd say go with acquaintance and jump into flirting. You don't want to be friendzoned. Most important thing is to learn from this experience should it not work out. Just ask her to hangout to unwind since midterms are over. She might not be super experienced either, so don't fear..

Its kinda frustrating that she remembers my friend's name who she only met once than my name :'(

Just go ask her for a cup of coffee. She should get the hint since this is the second time you are asking. The worst that could happen is she turns you down. Which isn't any worse than what is happening now.

1. Do some research on where you want to go. Try to find a place that has something special about it. IE. live music, cool vibe, etc
2. Make your usual small talk
3. "So I found this cool place that has xxxxxxxx that I would like to check out sometime. Would you like to go with me?"
