Japanese women, and love letters

So... I posted in another forum thread, about telling a woman my feelings for her via a letter. I don't know how to link it, but I'll try. Anyways, do Japanese woman go for letters of that nature? I know they have 告白, kokuhaku, culture, so maybe.

Edit: I wouldn't say love letter, rather, a letter telling her how I feel.
