She is being bullied.

So, basically at my College. There is quite a bit of bullying. I do not get bullied nor do any of my friends, we are very popular in fact. However, today a girl approached me on my own and asked whether she could hang around with me and my friends as she is lonely and being bullied. I have said sure. However, what I want to know is there anything I should do or be aware of to make her feel welcome and part of the group? I could maybe bake her a cake or would that be too much.

Just talk to her and make her feel welcome. Maybe stand up for her with your friends to get the bullies to back off if you can do so without putting anyone in danger good luck

You could better give her soft toy - it will be cuddly and make her remember you. But yeah social contact is enough too. Basically when times are tuf people look for escape, they look for better world, what you can do is introduce her to your world and talk be nice to her.

You and your friends can stand up to those bullying her, strength in numbers would be helpful regarding her situation and be available to talk and listen when she feels down or alone.
