Couldn't you add the option open your locked thread, and even bump your thread so it doesn't get a lock without having to actually post in it?

So if we want a thread that has been locked not for malicious reasons reopened we can do so ourselves without asking the admin staff?

Or put it under Administrative options too, either or would work.

Just a thought.
